Update on Goldie, the Escaped Budgie

"Goldie's" real name is Lemon, an escapee from Graves End. On Saturday morning, BrooklynParrots.com will attempt a rescue.

Many thanks to all who have responded to my post on "Goldie," the escaped parakeet who's been living on the campus of Brooklyn College. A major development in this case occurred today, when I was e-mailed by a person who knows the owner. This bird, whose proper name is Lemon, escaped several months ago from a home in Graves End, Brooklyn.

Myself and a professional bird rescuer will attempt to bring this little bird in very early Saturday morning. Wish us luck: I've never done this kind of thing before and I know that budgies are very difficult to bring in. But if we're successful, at least we have the assurance that Lemon will have a home.
